  1. First, I love all of your reviews. I’m a horror movie junkie, so reading your posts does make it easier to find decent ones.

As for the list of movies due to be released this year, let’s just hope that they are all better than “Rings” (then again, aside from the parts that made the preview, it’s kind of hard to get worse).

Thanks so much! I reallt appreciate it! We’ll see how horror goes the rest of the year, I’m hoping the Belko Experiment (while not completely horror) can be a solid flick

  2. I really loved Sinister. Learning about demons and stuff like that is one of my favorite things. So to have it in a movie is even better. I also enjoy Ethan Hawke and his acting.
The sequel was okay. I get scared by just about anything so it still terrified me.

Great review for one of my favourite horror films! The flaws didn’t detract from the atmospheric build-up, and I loved that insane ending.

Sinister was definitely not bad. The creepy “snuff type” films Ethan Hawke finds are really worth the watch. However when the villain was finally revealed and turned out to be someone who seems to have been rejected for an audition for Slipknot, that took some of the fun away. Still, it was really effective at times. Agree with the above comments though, the sequel was really bad, and not worth the watch. Great post!

Agreed, they do rely on some horror cliches, I hate scare jumps. But overall, a solid horror movie. One of my favorites in recent years.

  6. Definitely a solid horror movie that doesn’t get enough props in my book.

  7. Great review and well written! Mind dropping a follow at http://www.tvandcity.com ? We’re a new site trying to gain traction.

It’s very effective in its own ways. Nice review.

  9. I love this movie. Like you said, it has its issues, but what it does right makes up for it. It’s got some deeply unsettling images that I’ll never forget and the score compliments it well.

The sequel was disappointing, don’t watch it if you haven’t already!
There is yet another horror movie ‘A girl walks home alone at night’. If you are looking for a new movie to watch and review, you can go for it.
