I found Ego’s storyline quite boring (the gold people included). Just the overarching plot was meh, but the dialogue and chemistry between characters was reminiscent of why I like this series. I freaking love Drax, I know his a bit of a cliche character, but man I still laughed at all his lines.

Also, there were so many try hard moments in this movie, like forced comedy, that left me a bit cringed out. Other than that, visually stunning.

In agreement with you there. The film really didn’t have a plot until the last 20 minutes when Ego showed his true colors. Up until then, it was just a comedy skit

  2. I really liked the movie as a whole. There are certain aspects I didn’t like, The Sovereign being one of them. I felt like they were only there to introduce Adam Warlock and for no other purpose. Just like the entire movie of Dr. Strange was made solely to introduce the time stone… But overall the movie was great and I would wager it could be better than the first. As a huge comic fan, I kind of knew that Ego was going to be bad news and turn on Quill, but it was still entertaining to see Quill shoot his face off. I was a little off put on how they strayed from the comic origins of Quill and his father when they stuck so closely to the origins for the other members of the Guardians, but I guess they had to do that for continuity sake.

As soon as Ego appeared it was obvious to my son and I that he had ulterior motives, so his intentions were very predictable. Also, the gold people were extremely lame.

I think I realized it when Mantis started acting weird (which is probably when most people figured it out since it was so obvious)

Snake Plisskin’s just portraying a bunch of villains lately.

He really is! I kind of like it though since his suave nature allows for you connect with him a little better. It makes his villains far more compelling!

Thanks so much! I’m happy people aren’t killing me for hating on Marvel a little lol
