  1. I’ve yet to watch Dark Tower but I’m already feeling the disappointment from reading this; however, you are so right about Hitman. I finally came to the realization that Samuel and Ryan were just having fun! Forget any possibility of a real movie. Great read!

Thanks so much! This month I’ve made a promise to myself to see more films so hopefully the Worst Movies of September will be a better representation!

  2. Nick,
I enjoy your perspective and content, and I was surprised to find that you are (only) a college student! Your reviews are thoughtful, robust, and always spot on in my opinion — in other words, you are wise and wonderful beyond your years! I have befriended a director and executive producer who you follow and like too (CJ Powers) and because of that, I make it a point to catch your reviews. Anyway, good job with your blog, and may your career flourish!

I’m one of those you mentioned who did find The Hitman’s Bodyguard enjoyable, and I also saw a couple of the movies you didn’t get to see. Though Leap! just barely edged out of the worst list, The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature didn’t. And I’m assuming you didn’t get a chance to see Kidnap either! Here’s my list of the top 3 worst films of August — #3: The Dark Tower; #2: Kidnap; #1: The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature. (Consider yourself lucky, I guess!)

Nailed every single one of them. I had the feeling of disappointment with the The Dark Tower, but Hitman’s Bodyguard was like a movie for on time watching. It wasn’t made for a franchise or anything like that, just a regular comedy.

I could see where people would enjoy Hitman’s Bodyguard if they were in the right mood, but poorly written comedies just aren’t for me anymore. I guess I’m becoming too much of a snob lol

Man, I get it. I laughed my ass off with the latest Transformer, even that was supposed to be a movie with a good plot. Hollywood stopped caring about the good plots, but public didn’t. New Thor is destined to be a comedy, now I just hope it will swing to a dark comedy rather to a censored one. Hard to find a good comedy nowadays, specially in Hollywood production. The pain is real. 😀 You want comedy, turn on the TV. Bunch a idiots proving they ARE idiots to other idiots. 😀 Enjoy life.

        Lol very, very true!
