A Director’s Take on Alex Garland’s ‘Annihilation’ (Watch)

It’s safe to say that Alex Garland’s Annihilation is the most analyzed film of 2018.  Well, I guess that mantle belongs to Black Panther in actuality, but Annihilation has been at the center of serious movie discussion since its release back in February.  The sci-fi horror film is a bit of a puzzle to say the least, and everyone that works in media has dissected as a result.  Opinions range from complete disdain to complete praise (yours truly belongs in the latter camp).  However, one group of people in the industry (and possibly the most qualified) has had limited to say in the conversation thus far–other directors.

One would think that a singular work of art is best discussed by those striving to make singular works of art on their own.  After all, they’re the ones that turn a vision into a reality!  Thankfully, I know a guy that fits the description–director Richard Keaney.
