Film Review – The Week Of (2018) (Watch)
By now, everyone is aware of the fact that Adam Sandler is firmly entrenched in the IDGAF section of his career. Whether it’s hiring all his friends for another comedy that’s trapped in the 1990’s or creating another grating voice that can be characterized as “too much” within the first five minutes of the film, Sandler is sticking to his gimmick, and it makes it even more frustrating when he puts in a fabulous performance every once and awhile like he did in 2017’s The Meyerowitz Stories. Regardless, Sandler is back with The Week Of, and it has all the same, tired beats.
Following the week leading up to the marriage of their children, Sandler and Rock are presented as polar opposites in the name of comedy. But, as Austin Burke explains below, that pursuit might not have worked out as intended.
The following review will be spoiler free.
